Mid-range free-range ducks and ducks should be strengthened

August 07, 2023

Summer is the peak period of egg laying for ducks. For instance, when free-range ducks are driven to fields and rivers during cool days, they can feed a large number of landing grains and live food, saving a lot of feed for farmers. Come to considerable economic benefits. However, the summer temperatures are high. If the management is not good, it will not only reduce the egg laying rate of ducks, but also affect the health of ducks and ducks. Now we will briefly introduce the main points of management for laying-down ducks and ducks in midsummer and hope to benefit the breeding industry.

Create suitable environmental conditions

The layout and structure of the duck house should be reasonable, and the duck house should maintain a certain distance. The duck house should be well-ventilated, with proper temperature and humidity, and regular cleaning. The rearing density should not be too high. To be reared in groups and implement the "all-in, all-out" system. At the same time pay attention to doing a good job in environmental hygiene and personal hygiene. There must be no dirt around the duck house and regular rodent extermination. Duck dung should be promptly cleaned up, placed in a place away from the duck house, and piled and fermented. Before entering the duck house, staff members should change their shoes, wear overalls, and wash their hands with a disinfectant (such as 3% sursol or 0.1% benzalkonium). Workers and utensils should be as fixed as possible, and outsiders should not enter the duck house without permission.

Provide nutritionally comprehensive feed

According to the needs of the growth and production of ducks, provide full-priced feeds to meet the needs of their nutrients, especially vitamins and trace elements, to enhance their resistance to disease. Do not feed spoilage feed. In addition to guaranteeing fresh and hygienic food, feeds should be supplemented with high protein, low fat feed and aquatic grass, supplemented with corn, soybean cake and silkworm cocoons. 100 grams of oxytetracycline should be added for every 100 kilograms of feed. Before the ducks were put into production, 1 kilogram of honey was added to every 50 kilograms of feed. They were fed for 3 days, stopped for 15 days, and fed 3 more days. They often provided clean drinking water. Due to abundant food sources, ducks gain weight quickly at this stage. In order not to affect egg production, duck weight should be controlled between 1.5 and 2 kg. In summer, due to the high temperature during the day, which affects the feeding, movement, and rest of the ducks, nighttime lighting can be used for overnight lighting so that the ducks can freely eat, drink, and play at night. Daily feed should be changed to a single feed for compound feed, and feed some fresh live feed such as quail, snail, loach, loach, and small fish that ducks like to eat, so that the laying ducks can maintain normal body condition and moderate sensation. When the grazing time is less, ensure that the protein content in the feed is not less than 18%, and supplement the appropriate amount of trace elements.

Disinfection must be thoroughly immunized in time

Duck houses, feeding utensils, hatchery rooms, hatchery equipment, vehicles, etc. must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected on a regular basis. Immunization of laying ducks should be conducted in accordance with a reasonable immunization schedule. If one day of age, prevent infectious hepatitis; 60 days to 70 days and 120 days of time when the injection of a single cholera vaccine; 70 days to 80 days of age, the injection of duck maggot attenuated live vaccine. Prior to the onset of summer, anticoccidial drugs should be added to the feed.

Pay attention to sunstroke and supplement lighting

The optimum temperature for the growth of laying ducks is 15°C to 18°C, which is lower than 5°C or higher than 35°C, and all laying eggs are affected. Therefore, the duck house should be located south to the south, open the window ventilation or installation of exhaust fans, duck shelter roof plus insulation, playground and temporary shelter to set up sunscreen, appropriate to reduce the breeding density, are conducive to cooling. The duck houses and sports grounds should be cleaned frequently. In order to prevent moisture and dehumidify, do not sprinkle water on the duck houses. It is best to use a dust washer. At the same time, early ducks and late ducks are encouraged to increase the number of breaks at midday and the number of visits to the water. In the evening, do not rush to catch ducks and let them go in the open air. After the beginning of autumn, the white pheasant gradually decreases, and the light is turned on for 2 hours every morning and evening to stimulate the development of the follicles of ducks. At the same time, we must take cold and warm insulation measures in accordance with changes in temperature.

Grazing should pay attention to science

Grazing can supplement duck, duck, shrimp, snails and other flavored foods. However, it is imperative to insist on "six inadequacies", that is, it is not appropriate to let go of ducks and ducks, and feed some feed before grazing so as to avoid swallowing excessive sediment due to hunger; it is not appropriate to drive the ducks off too fast; Water grazing; not suitable for grazing along roads and railways. The flock is frightened and it is easy to increase the stress reaction. Apart from preventing strangers from entering the duck quail eggs, pigs, dogs, cats and rats are not allowed to interfere with the ducks. If the ducks are found to be lack of energy, lack of energy, fear of grazing, watering and feathering, or even sinking, it means there is a problem with the ducks. If malnutrition or deficiencies occur, timely measures must be taken to increase nutrition and feed animals with fresh feed or cod liver oil. If it is caused by a disease, find out the reason quickly.

Diligently observe

Observe the duck's egg production. Ducks normally lay eggs at midnight from 1 to 3 o'clock, and their shells are smooth, thick and shiny. If ducks are found to delay egg production each day, or even during the day, egg production is very dispersive, and egg shape becomes longer, eggshell thinning, translucent sand spots, and even soft shell eggs, there may be two reasons: One is that there are parasites in the duck body; the second is that the nutrients in the feed are not comprehensive, especially the lack of calcium, vitamins, proteins and so on. The ducks can be dewormed and supplemented with appropriate amounts of bone meal, shell powder, stone meal, fish meal, and vitamin additives, so that the ducks can quickly return to normal egg production. At the same time, pay attention to the duck's droppings and feathers. If the stool is white, it means that the animal feed is fed too much and indigestion; if the stool is loose, there is not much white, indicating that the animal feed is appropriate. The duck's feathers are tightly affixed, full and bright, and the tail looks like a pompon, indicating that the materials used are reasonable. If the feathers are loose, the wings are sagging, the walk is weak, and you do not want to splash, you should feed fishmeal and other fine feeds in time.

Timely prevention of heat stroke ducks

The main symptoms of duck heatstroke are elevated body temperature, shortness of breath, depression, gait, standing instability, loss of appetite, and even elimination. The treatment method is: 1 On the blood vessels of the hyperemicia duck's feet congested, acupuncture and bloodletting can be returned to normal after about 10 minutes after bloodletting. 2 Drizzle the head of the duck with cold water, and fill with 2% concentration of 10 drops of water, each 4 ml to 5 ml, usually 20 minutes to 30 minutes to return to normal.
